All naturopaths are Wellness Coaches.
Wellness coaching is so important to the wholistic principles of naturopathic medicine.
When clients come to my clinic they often have a mix of different things happening in their lives. They are unwell, suffering from various medical conditions; they are feeling frustrated and fed up, their stress levels through the roof.
The cases I see are complex, with a number of contributing factors which result in poor health.
Helping clients to make the changes they need to achieve the health they want is more than just handing over a To Do list and sending them on their way. It is about actively supporting their journey, encouraging them to take the responsibility they need to get the outcomes required.
This is Wellness Coaching.
I look at behaviour change, positive psychology and understanding the mind-body connection to improve my clients’ health. That means:
- * Understanding their relationship with food
- * Assessing stress response patterns
- * Teaching mindfulness and relaxation
- * Uncovering how our mind affects the physical body, and vice versa.
